The Boston College Department of Mathematics advances the field through a commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service to the community. The faculty has a strong research reputation in the areas of Algebraic Geometry, Geometry, Number Theory, Representation Theory, and Topology. Our 255 undergraduate math majors are highly in demand in a wide range of job areas, and our Ph.D. program attracts students from top programs both nationally and internationally.
