Biography

I study the history of modern Germany, the Cold War, and international humanitarianism. My dissertation project revolves around the intersection between West German foreign policy and nongovernmental humanitarianism directed towards the Third World in the 1960s and 1970s. I contend that humanitarian organizations played an important part in developing West Germany’s understanding of its role in the world.
