Associate Professor of the Practice
George O’Har teaches courses on Literature and Technology, Utopia, Creative Writing, Creative Non-Fiction and American Literary History. He also teaches in the Core, in the Freshman Writing Seminar, and in the Cornerstone Program. George’s research has focused on the transition from wooden to iron shipbuilding in the nineteenth-century, primarily in East Boston. He is co-author of an administrative history of Lowell National Historical Park. Before becoming an academic he was an electrical engineer. He as well spent four years in the Air Force.
He is the author of the novels Psychic Fair and The Thousand Hour Club.
