Prof. Rafael Ubal obtained his PhD from Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain. He carried out his post-doctoral studies at Northeastern University, Boston, where he later became an Assistant Teaching Professor. He joined the Computer Science Department at Boston College in the Fall of 2019.
His research interest cover a range of topics in the computer architecture field and the hardware-software interface, including multi-core and many-core architectures, GPUs, software simulation tools, and compilers for these architectures. He is the main developer and project manager of Multi2Sim, an open-source simulator for CPU-GPU heterogeneous systems.
Prof. Ubal's interests include the architecture of full-stack, real-time, scalable web applications, including database design, back-end design, client-server APIs, front-end design, and serverless platforms. He is the founder of Top of Trees, a software project management tool featuring a unit testing framework, code review system, and task manager.
