BCC has strong ties with industry through faculty research interactions and alumni relationships. Our industrial colleagues provide generous support for our seminar series, most notably Novartis, Sigma-Aldrich, Abbott Laboratories, and Bristol-Myers Squibb. BCC graduate students have been the recipients of numerous prestigious fellowships over the years from pharmaceutical leaders such as Schering-Plough, Pfizer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Novartis. BCC alumni hold key leadership positions throughout the biotech/pharma industry, and our Industrial Recruiting Program assists graduate and undergraduate students to secure positions in industry.
Industrial Recruiting Program
Every year, BCC manages an Industrial Recruiting Program that brings representatives of various companies to the Merkert Chemistry Center to interview eligible students for post-degree job opportunities. This program is available to all undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdoctoral fellows at BCC. Postdoctoral associates and graduate and undergraduate students who are in their final year of study may participate during their search for permanent positions. The recruiting schedule runs from September through December for postdoctoral fellows and Ph.D. candidates and January through March for B.S. candidates. A few of the corporate partners who recruit at BCC include Amgen, Biogen, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Celgene, Merck and Novartis.
