Data Club

At Data Club, graduate and post doctoral students present their most recent research findings from their labs. This week, David Layman (Cam Lab) and Brigitte Lawhorn (Johnson Lab) will be presenting, hosted by Professor Sarah McMenamim. Talk titles are as follows:

David Layman: "I came to BC to study chromatin, but it left me with a bad yeast impression"

Brigitte Lawhorn: “A Conserved Interaction Between Capsid and the RBD4/Cyp Supradomain of Host RanBP2 is Subject to Natural Selection During Spillover Transmission and Emergence of Primate Lentiviruses"

This week, Nikhil Ram Mohan (Meyer Lab) and Klemens Engelberg (Gubbels Lab) will be presenting, hosted by Biology Department Chair Welkin Johnson. Talk titles are as follows:

Nikhil Ram Mohan: “Etiology of the progression of Periodontitis: A meta survey of the genes and putative regulatory mechanisms driving disease”

Klemens Engelberg: “More is not always better - Toxoplasma MNK-L1 in the budding cycle”

Biology Lab Rotation 1 Talks

First-year Biology students in the Graduate Research Experience classes participate in 3 separate 7-week lab rotations to prepare for working in a faculty member's laboratory. At the end of each rotation, students give 10-12 minute talks to describe the research they conducted. This event is for these students to present research conducted during the first rotation and is hosted by Professor Charlie Hoffman.
