Urban Catholic Teacher Corps | UCTC
Founded in 1997, UCTC actively engages in the ministry of teaching in the schools of the Archdiocese of Boston serving urban students and providing academically rigorous and experientially rich, urban Catholic teacher preparation based in a uniquely Catholic formative context.
Members commit to a two year teaching practicum in Boston Catholic schools serving urban students, living in an intentional community, growing in their faith, and completing a master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction at Boston College's Lynch School of Education.
Currently, UCTC offers placements in Boston/Brockton, MA, Lawrence, MA, and Chuuk, Micronesia. To learn more about each of these sites, visit our Where We Are page.
UCTC is committed to the recruitment of a diverse group of participants who reflect the student populations of the schools with which we partner.

UCTC helped me become a better person
“My time in UCTC helped me become a better person. Not only did I grow professionally as a teacher but I learned what it meant to minister as a teacher and how to help my students to become better versions of themselves.”
