Kiara Manosalvas is a 2nd year masters student in the Mental Health Counseling program at Boston College. She received her BA in Psychology at the University of Maryland, College. She is a graduate student affiliate of the American Psychological Association (APA), Division 17 (Society of Counseling Psychology), as well as a fellow for the APA Minority Fellowship Program in Services for Transitional Age Youth.
Kiara joined the ISPRC team in the fall of 2015. Her research interests include mass incarceration and the criminalization of youth, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, racial trauma, and cultural competency training for mental health practitioners. She is currently interning at a community mental health clinic in South Boston.
In her spare time, Kiara enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
