Senior Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for Business and Government
Barbara Anthony is currently a Senior Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for Business and Government. Previously, she was appointed Undersecretary for the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. Ms. Anthony has also served as the Executive Director of Health Law Advocates and the Regional Director for the Northeast Regional Office of the Federal Trade Commission, headquartered in New York City. Additionally, Ms. Anthony served as the Chief of the Public Protection Bureau in the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General, where she directed the Office’s health care policy and health care litigation efforts. She has also served as Assistant Secretary of the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation and as a Trial Attorney in the United States Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division. She was recently appointed as a consultant and Senior Fellow in healthcare by the Pioneer Institute.
Ms. Anthony, a Massachusetts native, is one of the Bay State’s best known consumer advocates and most highly respected public interest lawyers. In addition, she regularly appears as a commentator on consumer protection issues in the New York and New England media markets. Ms. Anthony graduated from Suffolk University Law School, where she currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law and on the Dean’s Advisory Council.
