IV and Phlebotomy Courses

Nurses prepare IV bag to administer medicine intravenously.

Nurses are responsible for many patient experiences that involve caring for an IV or drawing blood. These courses provide an overview of anatomy and procedures in IV therapy. Demonstration of technique is included.

Central Line Care

<p><b>Tuition: $399<br /> Contact Hours: 5.5<br /> </b></p> <p>Students will learn about central venous lines used for the critically ill and other less acute conditions as well. At the conclusion participants will: </p> <ul> <li>identify and differentiate among the different types of central venous catheters available</li> <li>understand central line placement and beside care</li> <li>know best practices and recognize potential complications of caring and feeding patients with central venous catheters<br /> </li> </ul>

Essentials of Phlebotomy

<p><b>Tuition: $399<br /> Contact Hours: 5.5</b></p> <p>Participants will learn introductory level indications for phlebotomy and best practices for obtaining blood samples for diagnostic testing, donations to help save lives and therapeutic treatment. <span style="background-color: transparent;">Upon completion, learners will:</span></p> <ul> <li>describe the history and purposes of phlebotomy (also referred to as venipuncture)</li> <li>identify common indications for venipuncture and potential complications</li> <li>demonstrate venipuncture procedure, including order of draw, using best practices</li> </ul>
