This is the first in a series of Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) modules that will equip nurses with the skills and knowledge needed to care for cancer patients. Module 1 presents an overview of cancer and immunotherapy. The discussion focuses on information about cancer, immunotherapy, and the current science of immunotherapy as an approach to treating this disease.
Module 2: Started December 7, 2016 | Expires: December 30, 2017
This is the second in a series of three Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) modules that will equip nurses with the skills and knowledge needed to care for cancer patients undergoing cancer immunotherapy. In this module, participants will focus on specific immunotherapies, identify the therapy’s impact on target cells, and describe the desired treatment outcomes. In addition, this module addresses patient’s response to immunotherapy interventions, nursing strategies used to manage symptoms, and assessment approaches used to assist nurses in identifying symptoms requiring either involvement of the oncology care team or immediate evaluation of the patient and potential hospitalization.
Module 3: Start Date: December 7, 2016 | Expires: December 30, 2017
This is the final in a series of three Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) modules. In this module we present a case report of an individual undergoing cancer immunotherapy. This case-based approach enables the participant to integrate knowledge of immune cell function learned in Module 1 with concepts of assessment and triage discussed in Module 2 to implement an appropriate management plan for a patient on immunotherapy. It will also help in understanding varying patient presentations and how the Common Toxicity Criteria Adverse Events (CTCAE) can help guide your decision-making.
An intensive, comprehensive course that reviews NCLEX exam questions. Content focuses on adult health, pediatric, maternity, and psychiatric nursing. This course will assess your strengths and help you develop your study plan. Classes are recorded, so you can review them throughout the spring as you prepare for the exam.
Most students join the review course again after graduation, June 5-9, for only $35—a great final review and confidence builder before the big day.
