At the Carroll School, support and collaboration complement the challenge of rigorous curricula. Members of our community work closely together across programs, helping each other fulfill their potential while building lifelong relationships. Faculty, administrators, staff, and alumni invest genuinely in students’ success, providing individualized guidance and often meeting one-on-one.
A variety of learning and leadership opportunities further enrich the academic experience. Co-curricular programs—including several student-run organizations—and hundreds of events provide venues throughout the year for students to enhance their knowledge of specific business areas. They learn the skills that will benefit them during their careers while working with like-minded peers and meeting professionals in a broad range of fields.
The Take Home Prof program provides students with the unique opportunity to get to know their professor outside of the classroom. Students are given $100 to cook dinner for their professor in their residence hall or off-campus apartment. There are over 20 Take Home Prof programs each academic year. Current students interested in this program should check the availability in “This Week in the Carroll School of Management” newsletter.
The rules are as follows:
Invite your professor to lunch or coffee on campus and let the Senior Associate Dean’s Office pick up the tab! Launched in fall 2017 with the goal of creating a space for meaningful faculty-student interactions, Lunch with a Professor is available to students in all class years. Current students interested in this program should check the availability in “This Week in the Carroll School of Management” newsletter.
Here is how you do it:
Each “Lunch with a Professor” can have a maximum of five students in attendance.
