M.H. (Safi) Safizadeh is a professor in the Operations Management Department. He served as chairperson of the Department for three years and as the Interim Dean of the Carroll School for 18 months. In the 1990s, he was a visiting scholar at Jagellonian University in Poland and at Universite Robert Schuman in France.
Dr. Safizadeh has been teaching executive, graduate, and undergraduate courses for over thirty years. His current research focuses on strategic management of service operations. He has received multiple teaching, research, and service awards.
Dr. Safizadeh’s publications have appeared in numerous academic journals, including California Management Review, Decision Sciences, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Research, Journal of Management, Journal of Operations Management, Management Science, Naval Research Logistics, ORSA Journal on Computing, Production and Operations Management, and Strategic Management Journal.
He has served as a consultant to numerous manufacturing and service companies, including NCR Corporation, Coleman Company, First National Bank, and Fidelity Investment. He has four years of banking experience and frequently conducts management seminars for the U.S. and international executives.
