The Operations Management Department consists of dedicated teachers and active and productive scholars in two mutually supportive disciplines:
This unique combination of disciplines covers the management of operations in both the goods and service producing sectors and the effective development and use of the methods of Business Analytics. We are clearly managerial in our orientation, but also embrace the analytic skills required for successful practice. Our courses recognize the importance of environmental, ethical, and social issues in management decision making. Our teaching methods include lectures, field studies, case studies, and analytical modeling.
Our goal is to equip students with the knowledge and tools to ask meaningful questions, formulate approaches to investigate those questions, develop recommendations, and be able to model outcomes based on those recommendations. Our courses emphasize analysis and policy formulation and are explicitly designed to deliver the skills and knowledge required by successful managers in today’s competitive environment.
Please feel free to contact us directly with any questions you may have about our concentrations or course offerings.
