Scientific Committee on Solar-Terrestrial Physics
The Scientific Committee on Solar-Terrestrial Physics (SCOSTEP) is a thematic body of the International Science Council (ISC). SCOSTEP promotes ISC’s mission to strengthen international science for the benefit of society. SCOSTEP runs international interdisciplinary scientific programs and promotes solar-terrestrial physics research by providing the necessary scientific framework for international collaboration and dissemination of the derived scientific knowledge in collaboration with other ISC bodies. SCOSTEP is a permanent observer at the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UNCOPUOS).
SCOSTEP’s Secretariat Office is currently hosted by the Institute for Scientific Research at Boston College. From 2010 to 2019, it was hosted by the Centre for Research in Earth and Space Science (CRESS) at York University in Toronto, Canada, at NCAR from 2006 to 2010, and within NOAA from 1995 to 2006.
SCOSTEP is now accepting applications for new member countries. Click on the following link for the details and benefits of membership in SCOSTEP.
