Every spring, two very important things happen at the Heights: Commencement and the end of the University's fiscal year. Just as Commencement represents both the end and the beginning for our graduating seniors, the end of our fiscal year brings a close to fundraising for the past academic year—and a fresh start for budgets and programs in the year to come.
Here's a quick look at how strong Fiscal Year 2013 (FY13) wrapped up:
43,871: alumni, parents, and friends making gifts to BC
27,570: number of those gifts coming from undergraduates—a new record
$1 billion: the milestone BC's Light the World campaign crossed this year
31st: U.S. News & World Report's recent ranking of Boston College among national universities
While the numbers are impressive, it's the BC students who benefit from that generosity who tell the real story of what sets this University apart. Above is a video that delves more deeply into just a few of those stories. It's a sneak peek into the 2013 Boston College Impact Report site which will give a more complete view of BC's year of giving when it debuts later this month.
