Global Days of Service FAQs

In the Jesuit tradition of "men and women for others," service is an important part of the Boston College tradition. For students, service clubs and trips are among the most popular extracurricular activities offered. The desire to continue making a difference in our world is embraced by our alumni. Global Days of Service gives all Eagles an opportunity to unite and serve in their communities.

We know our Eagles are everywhere and we encourage everyone to serve where they can. Please take part in Global Service Days in one of these ways:

Lead a new project – Identify a service opportunity and volunteer to lead the project. There may be other alumni in your area who would also like to serve, and we can help connect you. Complete the Lead a Project form to get started.

Serve as an individual and share it with us – Give your time as an individual volunteer, and share with us what you have done. Your impact matters, and we want to know about it!

Global Days of Service is for everyone—alumni, parents, families, and friends of BC. Some projects do have age restrictions, which are noted in the project description. These restrictions are set by the organization we are partnering with based on the type of work that will be done.

Local contact information may be included in the project description for some of the currently planned service opportunities. For general Global Days of Service questions, or for event specific questions, email chapters@bc.edu or call 617-552-4757.
