The Connell Recreation Center redefines the future of fitness and recreation at Boston College. Set to open in summer 2019, the 244,000-square-foot, four-story structure off St. Thomas More Road offers our community an inspired space to play, pursue sports, gather with friends and work out.

About the Center

The Connell Recreation Center will be an epicenter of competition, growth, and enjoyment—a place for students, faculty, and staff to gather, engage, and rejuvenate for generations to come. By supporting this center, you are promoting a bold new vision for the future of fitness and recreation at Boston College. The center will include a variety of cutting-edge spaces, including:

  • Individual and group training areas
  • Aquatics center with lap and instructional pools
  • Gymnasium
  • Indoor jogging track
  • Mind-body studio
  • Multipurpose rooms
  • Fitness neighborhoods where guests can pursue their own workout routines

Naming opportunities include:


  • Elegant hardwood maple courts that will be home to Eagles basketball, volleyball, badminton, fencing, and general recreation

Indoor Jogging Track

  • Elevated track overlooking the four-court gymnasium, with seven and a half laps around the track equaling a mile

Racquetball and Squash Court Complex

  • Two racquetball and two squash courts give players the space they need to train and compete
