BC Web Environment
The Boston College web environment contains over 30,000 html documents contributed by over 700 "InfoProviders". When school is in session the main web site averages over 30,000
visitors per day which accounts for over 500,000 hits per day. By any measure it is a popular way for staff, faculty, students and visitors to learn something about BC. In addition to the main web site, there are over 5,500 accounts on the Personal Web Server.
There are several ways for you to contribute to the BC web environment.
- BCINFO - the main BC website. To add pages to the website
you must fill out an
InfoProvider form. The site is available for any
BC department, school or organization. For further information

- For Boston College web site owners, www.bc.edu aliases can be requested using the following alias form.
- Personal Web Server. Open to all staff, faculty and students at BC.
- FileMaker Pro Database Server - open to departments and organizations needing to host FileMaker Pro databases on the web.
- Streaming Server - for BC providers to post video and sound to be be streamed across the web.
