Cardinal O'Malley Visits STM
On Tuesday, November 4, His Eminence Sean Cardinal O'Malley presided at the celebration of Eucharist for the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit in 129 Lake Street. In his homily, Cardinal O'Malley affirmed the school's commitment to theological education and pastoral ministry and the contribution which the students, faculty and staff make to today's Church.
At the close of the liturgy, STM's Dean Richard Clifford, SJ, thanked the Cardinal for his presence both at the school's Inaugural Event on October 21st and at the liturgy, and spoke of his hopes for the collaboration that STM can have with the Archdiocese of Boston and with the Church as a whole.
Following the celebration of Eucharist, Cardinal O'Malley joined the STM students, faculty and staff for their weekly community luncheon.

STM Assistant Professor of Systematic Theology, Dominic Doyle received the 2008 Catherine Mowry LaCugna Award for new scholars at the annual convention of the Catholic Theological Society of America for the best academic essay in the field of theology within the Roman Catholic tradition. His essay is entitled, “Retrieving the Hope of Christian Humanism: A Thomistic Reflection on Charles Taylor and Nicholas Boyle.”
Doyle returns to Boston College STM, where he completed doctoral studies, after teaching for three years at Weston Jesuit School of Theology.
