Safety on Campus: Dorms, Demonstrations, Diseases, Disasters
BC Emergency Management Director John Tomanney and
Police Chief/Director of Public Safety John King
John Tomanney, who came to BC in 2008 from the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, and John King, who arrived in 2010 after serving as Chief of Police at Tufts, will discuss recent and current upgrades in safety plans and protocols at BC. They manage a whole spectrum of safety challenges—from cigarette fires and flood control, power outages, alerts communication, and theft protection, to the more recent responsibility, after multiple gun-casualty events this century on college campuses, to imagine and plan for the unimaginable. The speakers intend a short presentation and a long question/discussion period.
