The most convenient airport for reaching Boston College is Logan Airport. But Southwest Airlines provides very cheap flights to Manchester, New Hampshire, and Providence, Rhode Island, both of which are only an hour away from Boston.
From Logan Airport cabfare to BC should be $50-$60. Travelers to Manchester can take the Greyhound Bus to downtown Boston; after July 1 there will be a further limo/bus service – Flight Line, Inc. – that will take passengers from the Manchester airport to the Sullivan Square MBTA station in Somerville, Mass., for $19 each way. The Sullivan Square station is about a 45-minute subway/trolley ride to Chestnut Hill, where Boston College is located. Traveling from T. F. Green airport in Rhode Island is by Greyhound Bus directly to downtown Boston; or the Rhode Island public transportation train line to the Amtrak station in Providence. From there it is an hour to downtown Boston by train.
If you drive, parking is available for the week in one of the campus parking lots. Rates are currently $22 per week (subject to change in 2009).
