Sports, Clubs, and New Friends
While staying in touch with old pals is certainly important, making friends at your new school is an essential part of adapting to your new environment (Darling, 2005). Getting involved with the school-based extracurricular activities offer a way to begin to feel a part of the school community and provide an opportunity to associate with peers different from those you encounter in the classroom or at home (Darling, 2005). Participating in extracurricular activities can also help you to achieve your goals, learn to compete fairy, recover from defeat, and resolve disputes (Darling, 2005). Different schools offer different extracurricular activities, but bellow is a list of some activities present in most schools. With this many choices, there’s something out there for you!
