What is a WebSearch?
A WebSearch is a resource designed to assist the seeker in reflection on a question. In it, the seeker is guided to certain web sites and pointed to specific content to support their reflection process. This WebSearch may be used by itself or as a segment of a larger learning experience.

Each WebSearch is also designed to help the user learn how to evaluate a resource found on the Internet. A variety of criteria for evaluation of a web site are introduced in different WebSearches. The Boston College libraries offer an overview of evaluation of a web site.

C21 Online WebSearches are based on the model of WebQuest, first designed at San Diego State University. WebQuests are now used in classroom-based experiences from elementary through senior high school in numerous subject areas. C21 Online's WebSearches adopt a similar model for adult and senior high on-going faith formation.

Who uses WebSearches?
These resources are designed for any adult interested in the questions posed. They have been successfully used by senior high school students.

For what purposes do people use WebSearches?
These learning experiences can be stand-alone activities or they can be used to prepare for conversations. The conversations could be face-to-face, in conference calls, or on moderated discussion boards. They might be used for adult religious education, preparation for a certain ministry, or for personal interest. Senior high teachers may wish to use them as an assignment for part of the curriculum.
