Recreation Facilities

The William J. Flynn Recreation Complex is the focal point for athletic activities and recreation. The Recreation Complex contains: 1/8 mile track, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, racquetball and squash courts, 25 yard lap pool, diving pool, chairs and lounge chairs for sunbathing. Our Fitness area includes a wide variety of aerobic and resistance equipment. There are over 75 aerobic machines, 25 Nautilus and Body Master strength-training machines and free weights. We have fitness trainers on staff that can help you with your fitness program. Enjoying these facilities with those who share similar academic interests adds another dimension to summer study.

Religious Services

Liturgy is offered on class days in St. Mary’s Chapel at noon, and in the Church of St. Ignatius daily at 12:15 and 5:30 p.m., Saturday at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday vigil and on Sunday at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 noon and 5:30 p.m.

The Office of Campus Ministry is located in McElroy 215. A complete listing of local clergy and detailed information on religious services of many faiths is available there.

Health Services

The University Health Service Clinic is located in Cushing Hall, Room 119. It is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The clinic provides emergency treatment of minor injuries or illnesses with payment of the summer health fee and willingly acts as liaison with community doctors for any help necessary which the clinic cannot provide. For routine care the clinic’s telephone number is 552-3225; in an emergency, telephone 552-4444.

Campus Store

Textbooks, study aids, stationery supplies, gifts, toiletries, B.C. clothing and small items such as newspapers and snacks are available in the campus store in McElroy Commons.

O’Neill Library

Boston College offers summer learners full library privileges. The Thomas P. O’Neill, Jr. library contains over a million volumes and nearly 17,000 serial subscriptions. College Experience students are encouraged to get to know the library resources quickly. The Guide to the Boston College Libraries is available at the library reference desk.

Computer Lab

The Campus Technology Resource Center (CTRC), located in O'Neill Library, Room 250, is Boston College’s major computing lab on campus. The facility includes a technology Help Desk (in Room 248) as well as 96 Windows computers, 14 Apple computers, 6 printers, 3 scanners, 8 e-mail stations, 2 music stations, and areas for using personal laptops. Within the lab, users have access to a wide variety of software applications and high speed access to the internet. Valid BC ID required.
