Living at Boston College
High school students must live on campus or with their families. The convenience of being near the libraries, computer center, and other academic facilities, along with the social and educational opportunities afforded by residential living, contributes to the total value of the summer program. Staff thoroughly familiar with Boston College programs and resources is in residence and are capable of responding to most of the students' needs. At the same time the student is given the freedom and responsibility to establish priorities and to manage his/her time accordingly.
Furnishings in student rooms include a desk, chair, chest of drawers, closet and bed. Students are responsible for bringing their own linens and for housekeeping within the room. Fans, microwaves, refrigerators, clothes hangers, wastebasket, and blankets are not provided. Students are responsible for leaving the room in the same condition in which they originally found it or be subject to damage or a trash removal fine. No animals or pets of any kind are allowed within the residence halls. All buildings at Boston College, including the residence halls, are smoke free.
The BCE Program is housed exclusively in the College Road area of campus. College Road consists of three, four-storied residence halls that house approximately 175 students each and are directly across the street from McElroy Commons and the Campus Green. Females and males each have their own building, with common bathrooms and showers located on each floor. Rooms are not air-conditioned. Laundry rooms, vending areas, lounge space and activities are also available in the halls.
Rates per person:
Double Occupancy (two persons per bedroom) $252 per week; $1512 for six weeks
For further details and, after acceptance into the BCE Program, to register for housing, please go to the BCEP page on the Residential Life website:

Students will also receive further information after activation as a BC Summer student.
Dining Facilities
Breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner are provided in McElroy Commons and the Corcoran Commons (the Lower Campus Dining Facility). Both dining facilities provide a wide variety of a la carte selections to suit individual needs. For budgeting purposes, $750 has proven adequate for meal costs.
Recreation Facilities
The William J. Flynn Recreation Complex is the focal point for athletic activities and recreation. The Recreation Complex contains: jogging track, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, racquetball and squash courts, 8-lane 25 yard lap pool with separate diving well, heated spa, changing room and saunas. We also have an outdoor patio with tables, chairs and lounge chairs for sunbathing. Our fitness area includes a wide variety of cardiovascular machines,a full compliment of free-weights, and full line of selectorized strength training equipment. We offer several group exercise classes including yoga and cycling. Fitness trainers on staff can help with your program. Enjoying these facilities with those who share similar academic interests adds another dimension to summer study.
