Since the Graduate School cannot provide financial support for all of its students, it is important for you to research other sources of funding to assist you in financing your studies. The Office of Student Services is responsible for administering and awarding the following need-based federal financial aid programs: Federal Direct Loans (Subsidized and Unsubsidized), Perkins Loans, and Federal Work-Study. To apply for financial aid, students must complete the FASFA application and the Boston College Graduate Financial Aid Application.
Students must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-U.S. citizens as defined by the U.S. Department of Education to qualify for all programs. Federal regulations and University policy severely limit the types of financial assistance for international students. Boston College admissions policy requires that international students have adequate resources to meet their expenses throughout their education.
In addition to the IREPM graduate assistantships and tuition remission offered, students may apply for graduate assistantships through other Boston College departments. IREPM students currently hold or have held graduate positions as Peer Ministers, Director of the Women's Resource Center, Residential Director for Undergraduates, Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor, First Year Experience Assistant and Audiovisual Assistant. Graduate Assistant positions are listed on the Murray Graduate Center web site. All prospective graduate students are also strongly encouraged to investigate other possible sources of financial assistance, e.g. government and foundation sponsored fellowships. It is recommended that you check with various offices at your undergraduate institution, such as your current academic departments, financial aid and career services for materials about financial support for graduate study. You may also want to visit the Office of Student Services web site for information pertaining to alternative loan options.
Please note that the financial aid application deadline date is February 15. Applications received before that date will be given priority consideration for financial aid.
