New Evangelization for Today’s Parish

November 2, 2012

Presenters:  David B. Couturier, O.F.M. Cap.,
and Jane E. Regan

The call for a new evangelization is heard throughout the various levels of Church life. From Pope Benedict XVI to the local pastor, the importance of evangelization—and particularly a new evangelization—has never been more clearly announced. What do we mean by “new” evangelization? How does this relate to the overall mission of the Church and the vision of each parish? What would implementing a new evangelization in your pastoral setting look like? These are the questions examined at this Ministry Renewal Day.

David B. Couturier, O.F.M. Cap., is a trained psychotherapist and organizational development specialist, who has provided organizational consultation and facilitation to parishes, dioceses, and religious congregations around the world.  Presently, he is a research analyst in economic issues for the Franciscan Action Network, and teaches at St. Bonaventure University and the Pontifical Antonianum University.

Jane E. Regan is STM director of Continuing Education and associate professor of theology and religious education.
