St. Ignatius Church

Liturgy is the heart of community life at STM.

At every liturgical celebration, be it Eucharist or other rites, students, staff and faculty, women and men of diverse backgrounds and cultures, come together as one body of Christ.  Through liturgical celebration, Christ transforms the community into disciples of his kingdom so that the community may go forth to transform the world into his kingdom.  Therefore, the STM offers a wide range of prayerful and vibrant liturgical rites.

Eucharist is offered each day with a special all-school celebration on Thursdays.  Other liturgical rites are scheduled throughout the academic year, such as: Eucharistic Adoration, communal celebrations of Penance, Lessons and Carols and special prayer services for liturgical feasts and seasons.

Liturgy Committee

The Liturgy Committee plans timely and prayerful liturgies and provides opportunities for students to enhance their faith and spiritual life. Serving on the Committee is an opportunity for students to expand their knowledge of liturgy, learn liturgy planning skills and participate in planning prayerful and vibrant liturgical celebrations for the STM community. Serving on the Committee is also among the options for fulfilling the STM spiritual formation requirements. Members of the STM community are encouraged and welcome to participate in the development of STM liturgical life by sharing in the work of the liturgy committee and by volunteering for service in liturgical ministries.
