Xavier University, a Catholic institution in the Jesuit tradition, invites applications for the position of Center for Faith and Justice Coordinator with a focus on Faith, Ministry and Retreats programming.  As a Jesuit Catholic University we are committed to deepening our recognition of the sacred and pursuing the common good. In a community forged from diversity, the Dorothy Day Center for Faith and Justice challenges and supports Xavier’s diverse constituents as they pursue these complimentary ends. Through faith formation and education for social change, we seek to equip students to live in a diverse world where faith matters and justice is imperative. Inspired by Ignatian spirituality and Catholic Social Teaching, the Center is built on the invitation to find God in all things and the principles of solidarity and the common good.  The Coordinator of Faith and Ministry programs will play a vital role in this endeavor.  This 12 month position has a start date of July 1, 2014.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coordinate a variety of retreats based in the Ignatian tradition; provide leadership training for student retreat leaders; assist with the department’s efforts to organize university-wide events and liturgies; represent the department in collaborative efforts across the university to enhance student learning; provide pastoral presence on-campus and serve as a member of a rotating team of individuals who offer on-call pastoral care.  This position requires frequent work during nights and weekends.

Master’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field. One year of professional or paraprofessional experience in a ministry setting.  Experience working as part of a team. Experience working with college-age student programs and familiarity with Ignatian spirituality preferred.
