Position Responsibilities  

The Office of Campus Ministry is seeking candidates for the position of Campus Minister to focus primarily on the areas of social justice and assist with liturgical music. This position is responsible for coordinating and implementing programs that promote Catholic social teaching, including our service immersion trips program.

Coordinate and implement programs that promote Catholic social teachings and engage students in direct and indirect service. This is to include, but is not limited to, service immersion trips, community service days, and regular service opportunities throughout the school year / breaks.

Advise student groups in providing service opportunities for students and programming to raise awareness of Catholic social teaching principles.
Promote the Lasallian mission through involvement in the planning and implementation of opportunities for students to learn about the charism.
Assist with liturgical music for Sunday liturgies and large university liturgical events.

Collaborate with the Campus Ministry Team to organize and promote retreats, faith formation opportunities, and small faith communities for students.

Collaborate with the Campus Ministry Team to develop new prayer experience opportunities for the Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota community.

Coordinate and advise student groups, as determined in collaboration with the Campus Ministry Team.

Collaborate with the Campus Ministry Team to lead, assist and support all Campus Ministry programs and develop new programs that support the mission of Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and the Office of Campus Ministry.
Other appropriate duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Functions    

Must have experience planning service opportunities and be familiar with the principles of Catholic Social Teachings.
Must be able to prepare and lead liturgical music.
Must be willing to regularly work some evenings and weekends.
Must have strong communication and collaboration skills.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
     The successful candidate must support, respect, and advance the mission of Saint Mary's University as a Lasallian Catholic institution.
Education and Experience    
Master’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Pastoral Ministry or related degree preferred as well as 3-5 years of experience working with secondary, post-secondary, or college-age students.

Successful candidates will possess previous experience in coordinating volunteer service and service immersion trips as well as experience as a musical accompanist.

Experience coordinating retreats, faith formation programs and prayer services is preferred but not required.
