Family Life Coordinator

Position Description: 

The Archdiocese of Saint Louis has an opportunity for a Family Life Coordinator. This position is located at the Cardinal Rigali Center, which is in Shrewsbury, MO. It is a non-profit charitable organization and encompasses 11 counties in eastern Missouri, including the City of St. Louis. There are approximately 200 Parishes, plus 60 Offices and Agencies.

Position Summary:

The Family Life Coordinator is a full-time position overseeing existing Family Life Programs/Resources/Events and developing new ones as well. The candidate would work with ministries relating to the family including but not limited to marriage, divorce, separated, parenting, family faith formation, mothers, fathers, singles, etc. Some evenings or weekends are required, as are visits to parishes/deaneries, when necessary. In addition, he/she will coordinate events, workshops, and group presentations when needed.

This position requires collaboration with all other members of the Office of Laity and Family Life (OLFL) staff and other agencies and apostolates within the Archdiocese. This person will work closely with pastors, parish staffs, and apostolates in order to assist them with the programs, resources, and speakers they need in relation to their mission to the lay faithful and their families.


A thorough understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church, and Catholic Theology, as approved by the Magisterium is required. The ability to speak Spanish, is a plus. The Candidate should be willing to work in a team environment and be a self-starter. It is essential for the candidate to be able to recognize the areas for increased ministry to the family, envision a solution and create a plan to fill the need. Coordinator must be able to work with staff members of the Office of Laity and Family Life, Pastors and Parish volunteers. Experience in family life ministry is preferred. A Bachelor or graduate degree in the area of Catholic theology and/or pastoral ministry is required.
