Dominican University of California is seeking a dynamic individual for a Campus Minister position. The Campus Minister helps provide the necessary link between the University’s Dominican heritage, its values, and the spiritual needs of its members. As such, the Campus Minister should both understand and embrace the Dominican ideals (study, service, community, reflection) and reflect them in his/her interaction with the University community. This position is a 2-year appointment at 10 months per year.



  • Develop programs that promote an understanding of Dominican Spirituality, Ideals, and Heritage
  • Develop and oversee programs for the spiritual needs of students and staff
  • Assist Campus Ministry and Student Life staff in programming and activities that serve to build community among students
  • Manage communications/marketing efforts for campus ministry; including advertising, weekly announcements, and social media
  • Participate in student leadership training
  • Participate in and contribute to developing Alternative Service Trips
  • Conduct and assist with social justice education events/programs and work with local agencies to help provide students with service opportunities
  • Liaison for Interfaith groups, including, ROOTS prayer group, Jewish community on campus, Muslim community on campus, Building Bridges program
  • Provide on-going assistance to first year students as they transition to the University experience
  • Available for spiritual and pastoral counseling
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • MA in theology or similar field (or in process)
  • Knowledgeable of the Dominican heritage and core values of University mission
  • Experience with Campus Ministry and/or Young Adult Ministry
  • Proficiency with social media platforms
  • Understanding of social justice, environmental, and cosmology issues
  • Works well with young adults
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work with various size groupings (small reflection, large gathering)
  • Familiar with various faith traditions and religious backgrounds
  • Understanding of and commitment to social justice issues

Dominican University of California is an independent, international, learner-centered university of Catholic heritage, offering both undergraduate and graduate programs.
