St. Joseph Regional Health Center
Provides a full ministry of pastoral care and support to meet the spiritual needs of patients, families, and staff within the St. Joseph Health System.
Education ◦Required: Bachelor's degree; Master's degree; two units of CPE. Preferred: 4 Units of CPE. Major Required: Theology or related field Experience Required: Five years of pastoral, educational, or social ministry experience. Preferred: Within the 5 years, at least two of those years in hospital chaplaincy. Skills Required: Competencies for chaplaincy as established by the Spiritual Care Collaborative. Preferred: Fluent in Spanish. Licensure/Certifications Required: Final or full Profession membership in a Catholic religious community; Missioned or appointed by that community. Preferred: Certified by NACC or APC.
Conducts routine and crisis intervention pastoral care to patients, families and staff. Provides sacramental ministry as appropriate and within his/her own religious heritage to patients and their families, including baptism and communion. Participates as a full member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to maximize whole person care. Provides on-call pastoral care when required. Pursues continuing educational opportunities to keep updated in the field of spiritual care. Participates in scheduled departmental meetings. Coordinates patient care responsibilities with other members of the Spiritual Care Department. Performs other duties as assigned to meet the organizations needs.
