To be effective in all kinds of social service and action, we need to embody the spirit of our work, our deepest motivation for service and activism. When we uphold everyone in their essential dignity and worth, working from genuine compassion, we inspire others and replenish their energy for needed change. Contemplative training can nourish our prayer life and help us abide more fully in the spirit of our work. In this workshop, participants are entered into powerful meditations of loving communion and natural wisdom that have been adapted from Tibetan contemplative traditions for people of all backgrounds and faiths to explore.  Register

John Makransky is associate professor of buddhism and comparative theology at the Boston College Theology Department.  He will be assisted by Leah Weiss Ekstrom, M.A./M.S.W. and Ph.D. student at the School of Theology and Ministry.
