This lecture will consider the 1970 landmark legislation of Paul VI, Matrimonia mixta reflecting the ecumenical and pastoral values of the Second Vatican Council, and show how its reforms are further reflected in the 1983 Code of Canon Law and the 1993 Ecumenical Directory.  These documents will provide a point of departure for a wider-ranging discussion of the challenges and opportunities arising from ecumenical and interfaith marriages and families and various pastoral initiatives designed to address them.  Register
