All members of the BC community are invited to attend. Please bring your own lunch as well as perspectives and ideas to share.



William F. Connell School of Nursing PhD Colloquia


PhD Colloquia are informal scholarly discussions of selected research and professional issues planned to enhance the depth of understanding of contributions to knowledge within the scientific community. Topics are selected to promote analysis of social, moral, and ethical perspectives on nursing research and healthcare policy as well as interdisciplinary dialogue. Faculty and students plan the colloquia to be requirements of courses NU 810, 811, 812, and 813. In addition each session is open to interested members of the academic community. We look forward to stimulating explorations.



CERes Panel


Colleagues Enhancing Research (CERes) is a peer review panel for faculty grant applications. Students submitting NRSAs are welcome to submit their grant applications as well. Applications must be submitted to Mary Kelly, CNR Administrative Assistant (Cushing Hall, Room 433) by the submission deadline corresponding to the meeting dates listed below. Submit an original application and sponsor request for application (if applicable), along with six copies to Mary Kelly by noon of the posted submission deadlines.

Responsible Conduct of Research Discussions


The Boston College Office for Research Compliance offers the Responsible Conduct of Research Program as part of its educational and outreach activities.

Join us for a monthly gathering over lunch (12:00 noon – 1:00 pm) to discuss an issue important to the responsible conduct of research. All members of the research community are invited: faculty, staff, post-docs, grad students, and undergrads involved in research. You are welcome to attend just one or two sessions, or the entire series. Those who attend all seven sessions during the year can be certified as having completed an RCR education program. Bring your own bag lunch. Beverages and cookies will be provided. All sessions are in Higgins 345. If possible, RSVP to rcrprog@bc.edu so we will have a rough count of those attending. Boston College Research Services


Boston College Research Services provides consultation, training, and tutorials to support computing and research at Boston College. The Research Services staff has expertise in Matlab, Mathematica, statistical packages such as Stata, SAS, and SPSS, Qualitative Research, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Scientific Computation, Data Analysis, and Visualization. The staff can also provide assistance with codes (writing, porting, debugging, tuning, optimizing, and parallelizing codes), in integrating computer technologies into grant applications, and with setting up and managing surveys through the Internet.
