Clinical practica at teaching hospitals and community health care agencies in greater Boston and throughout New England offer rich opportunities for students to develop advanced competencies in their specialties. The School of Nursing faculty arrange practicum settings and select preceptors.
The major teaching hospitals include Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center, Children's Hospital Boston, Boston Medical Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, McLean Hospital, and New England Medical Center.
The community agency settings include mental health centers, community health centers, hospital-based ambulatory clinics, well child clinics, day care centers, college health clinics, public health departments, visiting nurse associations, health maintenance organizations, private nurse practices, private medical practices, long-term care settings, and home care agencies.
