Forgivable loans now available for teaching certificate program!
The Connell School is pleased to announce the availability of five (5) forgivable loans up to $10,000 for the Nurse Teaching Certificate. Thanks to the generosity of the Tufts Health Plan Foundation, Boston College has established a loan forgiveness program within its Connell School of Nursing. The goal of this program is to provide financial assistance to graduate nursing students who enroll or are enrolled in the nurse teaching certificate program. Certificate requirements and curriculum
The Teaching Certificate is available to nurses with Master's degrees in nursing or those enrolled in a Nursing Master's Program who have completed 50% or more of the requirements. The Teaching Certificate will provide further academic preparation for teaching nursing in schools of nursing or as clinical educators in the clinical practice area. Certificate courses are offered through distance/web-based education, and include:
- Foundations in Learning and Teaching in Nursing
- Designing Learning in Nursing Education
- Teaching Practicum
A certificate will be awarded after the successful completion of
the three courses.
How do I apply?
- Fill out the online application for the school of nursing, and indicate teaching certificate
- Include goal statement and a copy of RN licence
- Submit official transcripts of all post-high school academic coursework
- Deadline: April 9 for course sequence beginning in May
Note: Current Boston College Students should contact the Graduate Programs office before applying for the teaching certificate.
