Are you interested in teaching nurses in the classroom or clinical settings? Strengthen your teaching skills with Boston College's three-course teaching certificate.
Certificate requirements and curriculum
The Teaching Certificate is available to nurses with Master's degrees in nursing or those enrolled in a Nursing Master's Program who have completed 50% or more of the requirements. The Teaching Certificate will provide further academic preparation for teaching nursing in schools of nursing or as clinical educators in the clinical practice area. Certificate courses are offered through distance/web-based education, and include:
- Foundations in Learning and Teaching in Nursing
- Designing Learning in Nursing Education
- Teaching Practicum
A certificate will be awarded after the successful completion of
the three courses.
Scholarships Available Now!
The Connell School is pleased to announce the availability of three (3) full-tuition scholarships for the Nurse Teaching Certificate. Thanks to the generosity of Tufts Health Plan, we are able to offer full tuition scholarships to three students who enter the program in May 2008. How do I apply?
- Fill out the online application for the school of nursing, and indicate teaching certificate.
- Include goal statement and a copy of RN licence.
- Submit official transcripts of all post-high school academic coursework as
- Deadline: April 10 for course sequence beginning in May.
