Every attempt has been made to allow easy completion, printing, and submission of our online forms on different platforms and internet browsers. Submission of this form is supported on both Windows PCs and Macs. PC users should submit the form from inside the web browser. Mac users should see instructions below.
NECESSARY SOFTWARE
Adobe (for students using Windows PCs or Macs)
- You will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to use this form. To download a free copy, go to www.adobe.com.
- The latest version from Adobe is recommended, however, you should be able to complete the form with any version greater than 7.0.
- NOTE: If you are running Adobe 7.0, you will need to update to Adobe 7.03 because of a known Adobe issue. This can be done by bringing up Adobe, selecting the Help option, and then selecting 'Check for updates now…' By selecting 7.03, you will automatically select 7.01 and 7.02, along with 7.03.
Internet Explorer (for students using Windows PCs)
- If submitting outside the browser window, IE 6.0 or greater is needed to work with Adobe 6.0 or greater.
- If submitting inside the browser window, IE 5.0 or greater will work.
Netscape (for students using Windows PCs)
- If submitting outside the browser window you will need Netscape 7.1 or greater.
- If submitting inside the browser window you will need a version of Netscape that is 6.2 or greater (Netscape 6.0 does not support the completion of Adobe Forms. If you are a Netscape 6.0 user, you will need to upgrade to Netscape 7.0 to use this form).
Safari (for students using Macs)
- Safari 2.0.4 or greater is recommended.
Mozilla Firefox (for students using Windows PCs or Macs)
- Firefox 2.0.0.1 or greater is recommended.
Important Information for Mac users:
If you are are using a Mac with an OS X operating system, you may encounter problems when trying to submit online forms on the Boston College website. Most notably, you may not be able to fill out certain drop-down menu fields or the form may appear to be missing certain fields. This is a result of a known issue between the Safari or Firefox web browsers and Adobe software.
Therefore, in order to fill out the online supplemental application, please follow the instructions below (You may want to print out the following instructions before filling out the online form).
1. Make sure you have the most current version of Adobe reader installed. You can download Adobe Reader for free at www.adobe.com. In order to fill out some online forms on the Boston College website you must use Adobe Reader. These forms cannot be filled out using Preview.
2. Ctrl + click on the link provided to access the form. Choose "Download Linked File As..."
3. A "Save As" box will now appear on your screen. Make sure that the form is set to be saved as in PDF Format and that you are saving it to a location where you can easily find it. Click Save.
4. Find this form on your computer. Ctrl + click on the form and choose the "Open With" option. Then choose Adobe Reader. The form should open in Adobe Reader and allow you to fill out all of the fields.
