MASTER'S SPECIALTY

Graduates of the Palliative Care specialty will be able to provide expert, comprehensive, culturally appropriate and sensitive nursing care to seriously ill adult and older adult populations facing life-threatening illness. Graduates of this program will be eligible to take the certification examination for Hospice and Palliative Advanced Practice Nurses offered by the National Board for Certification of Hospice and Palliative Nurses (NBCHPN).

Is there financial aid available through BC? If not, what are some outside sources I can check?

Genesis HealthCare (GHC) has established a scholarship program at Boston College that provides financial assistance to graduate students at the Connell School of Nursing who have expressed an interest in geriatric nursing.  Students who are named Genesis Nurse Scholars will receive up to $25,000 in forgivable loans, made on a year-to-year basis, in exchange for a commitment to work full time at a GHC facility following graduation.
