Denise Testa is the assistant director of the nurse anesthesia program and a practicing CRNA. She teaches extensively in both the didactic and clinical courses in the program. Her areas of expertise is in respiratory and neurophysiology. Her focus is the application of research to practice. To this end, she has worked with students to develop conferences for anesthesia providers, operating room and recovery room nurses geared toward practice improvement and increased patient satisfaction. These conference topics have included: intraoperative crisis management, local anesthetic toxicity, patient controlled epidural anesthesia, and residual neuromuscular blockade.
