Elaine Siow's research focuses on the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes. Her current research involves the study of continuity in nursing care on patient outcomes in the critical care setting. Particularly, she is interested in finding out if patient outcomes are improved when they receive care from nurses who are familiar to them.

Elaine Siow is a board certified acute care nurse practitioner, a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Eastern Nursing Research Society (ENRS), and the International Network for Doctoral Education in Nursing (INDEN).
