Dr. Anne Norris is an Associate Professor at the Boston College Connell School of Nursing who completed a masters in psych/mental health nursing and PhD in nursing and psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before going on to do a post-doc at the University of Michigan.  She has been studying adolescent and young adult sexuality and sexual behavior with an emphasis on pregnancy and HIV risk taking behaviors for over 20 years, and has more than 35 publications in this area.  Over the past 10 years, Dr. Norris has become interested in the effects of culture, immigration and trauma on mental health and health behaviors, including reproductive health behaviors.  She has 7 publications in this area with additional manuscripts under review or in press.  Dr. Norris is also a methodologist who has written about path analysis, structural equation modeling, and confirmatory factor analysis, and has a strong interest in measurement and in conducting culturally relevant and sensitive research.  Current projects involve: exploring the validity and reliability of depression and stress measures in the US Haitian community, and working with Dr. Karen Aroian to analyze data regarding the stress of immigration for Arab and Persian Immigrants to the US, and Spanish speaking immigrants to the Canary Islands.
