Carrie has worked as a nurse practitioner in major teaching institutions in the northeast with a focus on critical care and cardiac surgery. She also has experience as a clinical instructor and lecturer to undergraduate students. Currently she is completing her doctoral work at the William F. Connell School of Nursing, Boston College.
Carrie's current research interests and dissertational work focuses on family caregivers and their experiences with the postoperative open heart surgery patient. As a University fellow at Boston College she has been fortunate to work with Dr. Ellen Mahoney on her work, funded by an RO1 grant, with spousal caregivers and their spouses with Alzheimer's disease.
