Heart failure is an increasingly common diagnosis due to our aging population, improved care of people with cardiac disease, and the development of new therapies for those with heart failure. This session will review the latest in the diagnosis of individuals with heart failure. Pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment strategies will be explained. We will also discuss the growing use of implantable defibrillators and resynchronization pacemakers in this patient population.
