Suturing Skills and Techniques

In this session, participants will learn proper skin closure techniques and development suturing skills. Types and appropriate choice of suture material, correct use of instruments and types of wound closures will be addressed. Participants will have hands on suturing with direction provided individually while working.

Pediatric Orthopedics 101: A Practical Guide to Common Musculoskeletal Conditions in Children

This session will review history including signs and symptoms for children with common orthopedic conditions. Focused musculoskeletal physical examinations will be discussed and techniques demonstrated for and with participants. Diagnosis and treatment options for childhood orthopedic conditions will be explored using case studies. Attendees will practice physical examination techniques and are encouraged to actively participate in this session.

Workshop 3

The Neurological Exam
Jorge Almondovar-Suarez, MD

Performance of the Neurological exam is a critical skill in both the office and the hospital setting. In this workshop, the participant will have the opportunity to practice the exam and will relate the clinical findings to common neurological disorders.
