Education History

  • B.S - Yale '84
  • ALM in IT, Software Engineering concentration - Harvard '10

Bernard Gilmore has taught test preparation (LSATs, GRE's, GMATs and SAT's), high school English and high school computer science for the past 26 years at colleges in the Boston area and at St. John's Preparatory School where he currently teaches in and chairs the department of Computer Science. While an undergraduate at Yale ('84) he planned to pursue a legal career, took the LSAT, and scored in the 98th percentile -- his chief qualification for currently teaching LSAT courses at Boston College -- but then decided instead to pursue a software engineering. After a 20 year period of teaching high school English full time, he earned a degree in software engineering (ALM in IT, Software Engineering concentration, Harvard '10) and changed to teaching computer science. He enjoys the challenge of helping people learn to master difficult material, both in his LSAT classes and in other classes he teaches.
