Join your colleagues in the classroom and the Forensics Science Lab at Boston College for an exciting day of exploring the field of forensics.
Through lecture and hands on experience in the laboratory, participants will learn and use equipment and techniques germane to the field of forensics to process and evaluate evidence from a mock crime scene. Students will learn to identify and collect physical and trace evidentiary items such as hairs, fibers, fingerprints, footprints, serological evidence, etc. and employ various diagnostic tests and methods to analyze a contrived sexual assault case. The laboratory experience will invite students to utilize techniques and to confront and deliberate the ethical and legal implications surrounding the application of forensic science in a court of law which will include an introduction to the legal process as well.
