settings? Strengthen your teaching skills with Boston College's
three-course teaching certificate.
Certificate requirements and curriculum
The teaching certificate is available to nurses with master's degrees in nursing or those enrolled in a nursing master's program who have completed 50% or more of the requirements. The teaching certificate will provide further academic preparation for teaching nursing in schools of nursing or as clinical educators in the clinical practice area. Certificate courses are offered through distance/web-based education, and include:
- NU 580 Foundations in Learning and Teaching in Nursing
- NU 582 Designing Learning in Nursing Education
- NU 583 Teaching Practicum
A certificate will be awarded after the successful completion of
the three courses.
How do I apply?
- Fill out the online application for the school of nursing, and indicate teaching certificate
- Include goal statement and a copy of RN licence
- Submit official transcripts of all post-high school academic coursework
- Deadline: February 1 for course sequence beginning in May
